Wall Observer on the Bitcointalk forum is, without a doubt, a historical archive of the early eras of Bitcoin. Among its discussion sections, few threads have reached the legendary status of the well-known "Wall Observer" (WO). As we will see later, its beginnings were not easy.
This thread was not only a meeting point for early Bitcoin adopters; over time, it has become a place for reunion, discussion, and analysis that, in its day, set the path for Hodlers, who were always careful to be "Observing" the "Walls" (referring to the movements of large buy and sell orders on the exchanges).
Many of the original WO members continue to post on the thread daily; they can be recognized by their lovely Hats.
Now let's look at some images to see the thread's journey: from June 6, 2012, to April 16, 2013, and up to the present day. Since then, WO has been perfectly moderated by infofront.
The initial title of the thread, created by adamstgBit, was Wall Observer - Mt Gox USD wall movement tracker, dating back to June 6, 2012.
The idea was the same as it is today, but the thread was derailed for several reasons and was blocked on April 16, 2013. A few days later it resumed, only to be closed again shortly after.
The original thread creator (OP) stepped down, and subsequent conversations were affected by deteriorating discourse.
The proposal was to find a candidate to moderate the WO thread. A poll was conducted, and infofront obtained the highest number of votes, subsequently taking over the Wall Observer thread. Since then, the thread has been working perfectly. Thx, theymos
The name of the thread changed to Wall Observer BTC / USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion, and it continues to increase its number of replies, pages created, and views month by month.
